A little bit of this and that

Thought I would share some more links from my seemingly endless list…

First off… A free Mommy Jammies party tomorrow night. I’ve never participated in anything like this in my life, but I think I will try this one out!  David and I have had the pleasure of working with Kim Kautzer from WriteShop for the past few years and she is truly a joy to work with.  She’s doing a workshop on Homeschooling through Crisis or Depression.  While the topic isn’t relevant to my life right now, I still would like to hear what Kim has to say and file it away for future reference.

Sleep and Exercise: Vigorous Exercisers Report the Best Sleep (I absolutely believe this is true. There is a significant difference in the quality of my sleep the days I walk on the treadmill and the days I don’t.  Huge difference. Even a moderate walk of 30 to 40 minutes a day makes me sleep so much better!)

The Premonition – God’s Early Warning System (What do you think?  Have a story to share?)

Has happened lots, usually I “see” or hear things while preoccupied with mundane tasks Such as I saw a tree fall in front of me while driving so I slammed on my brakes in confusion and then the tree did right then fall in front of my car. Several more things have happened similiar , but never anything I was actually thinking about , usually very sudden strong and random . I figure we must be hardwire that way and we miss most because we are busy concentrating on other things things that use our frontal lobe or whatever!

  2. I’ve had dreams that came true, including moves we ended up making that at the time of the dreams we had no plans on making any move at all.

Regarding the Feasts… I have two very good friends who live in different states but attend Messianic fellowships. It was through them that I started reading about how the Jewish Feasts correspond to Christianity. Really important information that I wish the Church today would share more.

  3. I had a bad feeling about a meatloaf once. I thought I was being silly, so I cooked it to death and served it anyhow. That meatloaf gave my husband and son E.coli 0157:H7 and my husband (as you know) ended up in the hospital in a coma and almost died. That was when I started listening to my weird feelings about food. :)

    Karen – Amazing story!

Brandy – I don’t think I had heard that part of your husband’s story. Wow. I got really bad food poisoning from fish on our first anniversary. I’m quasi-paranoid about food safety now. An experience that like completely changes how you view food preparation.

Brenda – One thing I appreciated about being Baptist is that they tend to emphasize the connection of Israel to Christianity. Now that we’re in a Christian Reformed church, the approach is completely different.

Re: the premonitions…. The thing I haven’t figured out is when I clearly see something happening and it usually ends badly. But when I get to that situation, it doesn’t end badly. I haven’t figured out what it means, but I’ve had it happen so many times I’ve lost count.

  5. I thought the NY Times article on food and the marketing of food and all the science that goes into it was really, really interesting. Yoplait has more sugar than Lucky Charms! That seems to rationalize my choice when I travel of having a Lucky Charms “treat” at the hotel’s continental breakfast… :)

The Lunchables story was amazing – all of them were. Wow. So much to think about.
