I couldn’t vote because I love it all
Autumn is the only season I really like. Winter’s too cold, spring’s too… ick, cheerful. Summer is too hot. But Autumn is blissful temperatures, and the Earth at its prettiest. And I love pumpkin pie.
I too love Autumn. I said the sights- but it is more than that.It is the feeling that it all creates. Warmth and snugness when it is cold outside. Beautiful leaves, crisp air, lights in the dark (especially around Christmas…..although I suppose that it more like winter). As I have never eaten pumpkin (!) I could not comment on the tastes
I will say “the smells”.
Autumn mornings are crisp and sometimes you will find early frost.
The smell of wood smoke tells you that people have cleaned and fired up their fireplaces.
By the hazy, sunny afternoon you might catch a whiff of cut grass that has been lying in the sun as folks make one last attempt to tidy up lawns before the first snow hits.
Believe it or not, I can “smell” when snow is coming.
For me, September is when the year really begins.
I love all of autumn….the sights, smells, taste and sounds. It’s my very favorite season. If I could replace February and March with September and October, I’d certainly do it. Autumn to me is a reminder of how blessed we are….with it’s beauty as well as the bounty of the season. After the heat of summer, autumn is a special gift!
