Last year I wrote about the first Fat Talk Free Week sponsored by my sorority, Delta Delta Delta (Tri Delta). If you missed it, you might want to check out last year’s post which contains a link to a short but powerful presentation about women’s views regarding body image.
This week is Fat Talk Free Week for 2009 and I am participating once again. I plan on doing a few blog posts this week related to this topic including: how women bloggers unthinkingly shame their readers, the challenges of raising a daughter deemed beautiful or physically attractive by cultural standards, and whether or not we will do Barbie dolls.
I hope you will take a few moments and view this year’s presentation and then stop by throughout this week to discuss these important topics. If you are interested in attending a presentation at one of the 25 locations throughout the country, see the Fat Talk Free Week Facebook page for more details.
